Untitled Goose Game Physical Copies Will Not Include Multiplayer Update

Physical copies of Untitled Goose Game for the Nintendo Switch and PS4 will not include the multiplayer update in the game card and disc.

Earlier this week, Nintendo aired its Indie World Showcase in which it revealed that 2019’s hugely popular Untitled Goose Game will be receiving a physical release as well as a free multiplayer update.

The two-player update will allow two people to control the nefarious goose as he terrorises the inhabitants of a small English village.

Unfortunately, House House, the Australian development studio behind the game, revealed in a recent Twitter Q&A that the update will not come pre-installed on game cards.

According to Nintendo Life, when asked whether the physical version of Untitled Goose Game will come with the multiplayer update already installed, House House said:

“We’re afraid not. We had to lock in the physical release build long before two-player was stable enough. As long as you can connect to the internet on your Nintendo Switch the game will update yourself.”

As stated by House House, anyone who purchases the physical copy will have to update their game over the internet in order to enjoy the multiplayer update.

The physical copy of Untitled Goose Game, which is priced at £35 for the Switch and £30 for the PS4, includes a game cartridge or disc, a 24-page retail catalogue featuring objects a goose may enjoy, a village map, and a “No Goose” sticker.

Untitled Goose Game will launch physically for the Nintendo Switch and PS4 on September 29th, 2020, and the free multiplayer update will release on September 23rd.
