The Best Reveals From The 2023 THQ Nordic Showcase
THQ Nordic held its 2023 digital showcase earlier today (August 11, 2023), where it unveiled several gameplay trailers for upcoming games and announced a handful of new titles. If you missed it, we rounded up some of the best reveals from the night as well as a quick round-up of everything else that was featured.
South Park: Snow Day Announcement
A brand-new South Park game was announced at the THQ Nordic Showcase; South Park: Snow Day. A co-op multiplayer game set to launch next year for PC and current-gen consoles, the game is set during the winter on a snow day and looks to follow the recent role playing console game series of South Park: The Stick Of Truth and South Park: The Fractured But Whole.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin
THQ Nordic also announced Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin, an adaptation of the famous 2020 comic book storyline. New reports suggest the game will be a single-player third-person action RPG akin to the God Of War reboot, and it’ll follow a single surviving turtle set in a dark future as per the miniseries. No release date or gameplay was shown.
Alone In The Dark New Character Trailers
Two new character trailers were revealed for Alone In The Dark, focusing on detective Edward Carnby and Emily Hartwood, offering a deeper look into their state of mind for the upcoming horror remake of the classic 1992 Alone In The Dark. The remake launches in October for PC and current-gen consoles.
Titan Quest II Announcement
Titan Quest II, a sequel to action RPG Titan Quest, was announced at the event. In development for PC and current-gen consoles, the game will feature a “handcrafted” open world and tasks you with facing mythological creatures in three gameplay modes; single-player, co-op multiplayer, and PvP online multiplayer. No release date was announced.
Gothic Remake New Trailer
THQ Nordic unveiled a brand-new trailer for the upcoming remake of the 2001 action RPG Gothic. No official gameplay or release date was shared, just a reminder that the remake is still in development.
Wreckreation New Trailer
A new trailer for car racing game Wreckreaction was unveiled at the digital showcase, showing how you can create worlds to race in while playing alone or online. No official release date was shared, but the game will be launching on PC and all current and past-gen consoles.
Other reveals included a brief look at the brand-new Tikamoon Plains DLC forWay Of The Hunter, as well as a closer look at the gameplay in upcoming co-op multiplayer title Trine 5: A Clockwork Conspiracy, war-based real-time strategy game The Last Train Home, and third-person shooter Outcast – A New Beginning.
The showcase also included a trailer for the upcoming real-time strategy game Tempest Rising and a closed beta announcement for space sim game Space For Sale.
