Starship Troopers: Extermination Is A 12-Player FPS Launching In 2023

Starship Troopers: Extermination

Developer Offworld Industries and Sony Pictures Consumer Products (SPCP) have announced Starship Troopers: Extermination, an upcoming 12-player FPS.

Inspired by the cult 1997 film Starship Troopers, the game sets you on the front lines in an assault against an Arachnid threat. You’ll play as a trooper in the Deep Space Vanguard.

A description states that you’ll work with other players to complete objectives, acquire resources, build and defend your base of operations, and then escape to extraction points, all while battling against the enemy insectoid aliens on the planet of Valaka.

The game supports cooperative gameplay in which 12 players team up in squads of four. You’ll be able to take on one of three classes – Assault, Support or Defence – that best suit your playstyle, and can unlock new weapons, equipment, and perks for each class.

While completing objectives, you’ll have to face five unique types of bugs, including Drones, Warriors, Gunners, Plasma Grenadiers, and Tiger Elites. The game also has increasing bug level threat levels during missions and large-scale battles with hundreds of enemy aliens on-screen.

You’ll need to construct defences against the enemy by using resources obtained from around the planet, and will need to work to retake lost bases, destroy hives, and wrestle control of the game’s map away from the enemy.

Starship Troopers: Extermination will launch on Steam Early Access for PC in 2023, expect more information in the coming months.
