Sony Announces PlayStation Plus Essential Games For September 2022
Sony has announced the free PlayStation Plus Essential games and the Extra and Premium titles for September 2022.
The upcoming month will include the usual three monthly games available from September 6th as well as 11 games for the Extra tier and six games for the Premium tier all available from September 20th, as announced by Sony.
PlayStation Plus Essential Games
Need For Speed Heat
Need For Speed Heat (NFS Heat) is a racing game by Ghost Games and EA that is set in the open world of Palm City, which is inspired by Miami, Florida. The game includes several diverse regions and the ability to change between night and day to access various activities, including race events, illicit street racing, and more. You’ll need to earn cash to purchase new cars and upgrades, and you’ll need to build up your reputation to access bigger races and better upgrades, just steer clear of the police.
Granblue Fantasy: Versus
Granblue Fantasy: Versus is a fighting game with a diverse cast of characters, each with a unique fighting style. The game also includes an RPG mode with an original story, where you must embark on a journey to visit various locations and fight the game’s characters. There are a total of 12 base characters, with additional characters available for purchase.
Toem
Toem is an adventure game in which you play as a photographer who embarks on a journey to ascend a mountain and witness an event known as Toem. Along the way, you’ll need to visit various towns and cities and help their inhabitants while solving puzzles and taking photos.
PlayStation Plus Extra And Premium Games
Extra Games
As mentioned, PlayStation is adding a total of 11 games to its Extra tier of PlayStation Plus, including several triple-A titles. The games available this month include:

- Assassin’s Creed Origins
- Watch Dogs 2
- Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2
- Spitfarer: Farewell Edition
- Chicory: A Colourful Tale
- Monster Energy Supercross – The Official Videogame 5
- Alex Kidd In Miracle World DX
- Rabbits Invasion: The Interactive TV Show
- Rayman Legends
- Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game – Complete Edition
Premium Games
Alongside the above, PlayStation will be adding six new classic titles to its Premium tier, including:
- Syphon Filter 2 (PS1)
- The Sly Collection (PS3)
- Sly Cooper: Thieves In Time (PS3)
- Bentley’s Hackpack (PS3)
- Toy Story 3 (PSP)
- Kingdom Of Paradise (PSP)
The Extra and Premium games will be available from September 20th, while the usual monthly Essential games are available from September 6th.
You’ll have until September 5th to claim August’s Essential games, which include Yakuza: Like A Dragon, Little Nightmares, and Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2.
