Rogue-like Shooter Metal Tales: Overkill To Launch Next Month
Zerouno Games has announced that its upcoming rock-inspired shooter Metal Tales: Overkill is launching next month.
The upcoming rogue-like game is heavily inspired by rock music and will launch in April for PC via Steam, Nintendo Switch, and all PlayStation and Xbox consoles.
Metal and adrenaline collide in Metal Tales: Overkill, where you must fight through procedurally generated levels and face a terrible looming curse affecting your metal brothers. The God Kuk has possessed all guitar gods and through them, the metalheads. Through infinite concerts, Kuk is commanding his legion of metalhead zombies to wipe out every original creation of metal bands and their fans.
Only one person can grind through the challenge and come out victorious; you. In Metal Tales: Overkill, you’ll need to make your way through the game to free your brothers from the ancient evil and secure your place as the ultimate Rock God. However, you’ll need to choose your path through the procedurally generated levels carefully, as there are evil hordes ready to take you on.
The game includes more than 50 items, including guitars, pedals, books, summons, and strings, and it includes 15 different enemies, eight guitar bosses, four playable characters, six unique levels, and three intense environments; the Metal Den, the Metal Festival, and Hell itself. You’ll also be able to unlock new abilities and upgrade stats between runs and play local co-op with a friend for some support.
Alongside launching digitally, Zerouno Games has announced two physical editions for the Nintendo Switch; the Deluxe Edition which includes a full colour printed manual, a themed guitar pick, and a sticker sheet.
The Collector’s Edition, which comes with the Deluxe Edition’s items, as well as a 56-page art book and a magnetic bottle opener, all of which comes in a special box. Both physical editions will only be available in Europe and will be available in limited numbers.
Metal Tales: Overkill will release digitally for all consoles and physically for the Nintendo Switch on April 22nd, 2022. Check out the trailer below:
