Rockstar drops GTA 6 trailer after leak, 2025 release window confirmed

GTA 6

Rockstar Games has dropped the trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI.

The minute-and-a-half trailer was originally set to release today (December 5th) but the publisher shared it online overnight after it leaked on X, formerly Twitter.

The trailer offers a glimpse into the game’s story, following main character Lucia and an unnamed male, although rumours suggest he may be called Jason.

It also showcases the Miami-inspired Vice City in the state of Leonida, with the trailer displaying numerous locales and NPCs, as well as what appears to be a TikTok app parody.

The publisher has been somewhat tight-lipped on what you can actually expect from the game, but Rockstar Games founder Sam Houser said it continues the studio’s efforts to “push the limits of what’s possible in highly immersive, story-driven open-world experiences”.

GTA 6 will launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles in 2025. A PC release date has not been announced, but it’ll likely launch a year or two after the console release as per previous Rockstar games.
