Psychological Horror Game Stray Souls Launches Later This Month On PC And Consoles
Developer Jukai Studio and publisher Versus Evil have announced a release date for their upcoming mystery-driven psychological horror game Stray Souls.
The game follows Daniel, a teenage boy who inherits a home from his estranged grandmother and meets a woman named Martha, who has knowledge about Daniel’s family, the house, and its connection to Daniel.
Featuring elements of Japanese survival horror games and music from Silent Hill composer Akira Yamaoka, Stray Souls also comes with a slew of randomised systems, where enemy encounters, item placements, paranormal activity, and weather patterns change with each playthrough.
You’re tasked with exploring the haunted town of Aspen Falls and its surrounding areas, all while facing gruesome creatures, battling epic bosses, solving puzzles, and choosing responses at key moments through branching dialogue options that shape Daniel’s journey.
Stray Souls will release on October 25th for PC and all PlayStation and Xbox consoles. PC players can purchase a special Cult Classic Edition of the game, which features the game’s soundtrack of more than three hours of music.
The special edition also comes with the Sacred Tome artbook, featuring gothic watercolour illustrations from artist Phil Worobey, as well as a digital lore library with all the notes, letters, and other documentation that can be found in the game.
