Deck13 and developer Just2D have confirmed that their upcoming pixel-art action RPG Drova – Forsaken Kin is launching later this year.

Inspired by Celtic mythology, the game is set in the dark and brutal world of Drova, where two factions are at war; one is trying to enslave the spirits of nature and the other is trying to save them and keep the world alive.

The game tasks you with joining either faction and making choices throughout the game that impact its story.

The game promises a flow-based combat system, which tasks you with studying your environments and using the power of spirits to your advantage, all while identifying clues to reveal mysteries, fulfilling tasks, and gathering and crafting equipment to become stronger.

The brand-new journey trailer confirms a 2024 release date and highlights one of the game’s core themes: progression.

Christian Sandkamper, the Co-founder of Just2D, said: “One of the core ideas of Drova has always been that the players have to survive in a world which just hates them.

“We really want to offer a journey which will make them feel the progression over time, going back to an enemy which murdered them with one strike before and just beating it up!”

When it releases later this year in “***ber”, as teased by Deck13 and Just2D, the game will be available for PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and 5, and Xbox Series and One consoles.
