Marvel's Spider-Man 2 Gets October 2023 Release Date

Insomniac Games dropped by the Summer Game Fest to unveil some new details of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, including a release date.

During the event, director Bryan Intihar shared concept art for two of the game’s main villains; Kraven and Venom, offering a first-look at the latter villain.

The official box art depicting both Spider-Men with the symbiote over Peter was debuted before Intihar confirmed an October 20th, 2023 release date.

The news comes just weeks after the game made an appearance at the PlayStation 2023 Showcase, where an extended gameplay trailer was shown featuring Peter in the black suit.

The trailer also offered a look at Queens, one of the three locations available in the game alongside Manhattan and Brooklyn, and it included a look at some of the new abilities and traversal options available to both Spider-Men.

Pre-orders And Game Editions Detailed

Shortly after unveiling the above news, Insomniac Games and PlayStation shared details of the game editions available for pre-order, including a base game, a Digital Deluxe, and a Collector’s Edition.

The base game comes with no extras, but pre-ordering any edition of the game will offer you an early unlock of the Arachknight Suit for Peter with three colour variants, an early unlock of the Shadow Spider Suit for Miles with three colour variants, an early unlock of the Web Grabber gadget, and three skill points.

The Digital Deluxe Edition includes the main game, all pre-order bonuses, as well as 10 unique suits both Spider-Men (Five each) that were designed by guest artists, additional Photo Mode frames and stickers, and two extra skill points for a total of five.

Meanwhile, the Collector’s Edition includes a voucher for the Digital Deluxe Edition, a Steelbook Case, and a 19-inch statue of the Spider-Men fighting Venom. The Collector’s Edition is only available via PlayStation Direct in the USA, UK, Germany, France, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Italy, Austria, Spain, and Portugal.
