Marvel’s Midnight Suns Has Been Delayed Again
Publisher 2K and developer Firaxis Games have delayed upcoming tactical RPG Marvel’s Midnight Suns.
The game was originally set to release in March 2022 but was bumped to the second half of this year. It’s now been delayed again, and will reportedly release by the end of Take-Two’s fiscal year – before March 2023 – for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles, with PS4, Xbox One, and Switch versions launching at a later date.
The delay was announced in a statement shared by the development group on Twitter, which reads: “We have an important update to share regarding our launch date for Marvel’s Midnight Suns. After discussion with the team, we’ve made the decision to move back the launch timing of Marvel’s Midnight Suns to ensure we are delivering the best possible experience for our fans.
“We will launch later this fiscal year on Windows PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5, with the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch versions following at a later date.”
It continues: “We know fans are looking forward to playing Marvel’s Midnight Suns and we will use this extra time to make sure we are delivering the best possible experience for everyone. Marvel’s Midnight Suns is easily the biggest game we’ve ever made and we’re incredibly appreciative of all the support players have shared with us throughout the years.”
The game is set within the Marvel universe after Doctor Faustus of Hydra uses dark magic to awaken Lilith, Mother Of Demons who seeks to bring back her master Cthon. In response, Doctor Strange recruits the Midnight Suns and resurrects the Hunter, an ancient warrior and Lilith’s forsaken child, to help them defeat Lilith, but she’s managed to brainwash and enslaved other superpowered beings.
You’ll take control of The Hunter, a fully customisable superhero created specifically for the game that can wield any of the game”s 40 different abilities. In addition to playing as The Hunter, you’ll also control a roster of Marvel superheroes, including Spider-Man, the Scarlet Witch, Doctor Strange, Ghost Rider, Iron Man, Wolverine, and more.
Combat is turn-based and you’ll need to complete missions in order to progress the game, where you’re required to select three heroes and are given a random deck of ability cards to use. In between missions, you can interact with other heroes at the game’s upgradeable base of operations.
Marvel’s Midnight Suns will now be released before the end of March 2023, and you can check out the latest trailer for a deeper look into the game and some of the enemies and superheroes in it:
