Gotham Knights Will Be Locked At 30 FPS On Consoles

Gotham Knights 30 FPS

Gotham Knights will not have a performance mode and will be locked at 30 frames-per-second on consoles, it’s been announced.

The game’s Executive Producer Fleur ‘Flaoua’ Marty shared the news in the Gotham Knights Discord, confirming that the game on consoles will not have a performance or quality toggle and will be locked at 30 frames-per-second.

Marty wrote: “Due to the types of features we have in our game, like providing a fully untethered co-op experience in our highly detailed open-world, it’s not as straightforward as lowering the resolution and getting a higher FPS.”

The news has sparked controversy across social media, with many fans rebuking the news and others announcing they’ve cancelled their console pre-order in favour of the PC version with “ultra high” framerate, according to the Gotham Knights PC trailer from last month.

The announcement comes hours after Warner Bros. Games Montréal announced the Heroic Assault mode for Gotham Knights, a free game mode available from November 29th.

Heroic Assault is separate from the game’s main story campaign. It allows up to four players in online co-op to play in a dedicated arena-like environment with objectives to complete and enemies to defeat on each floor with a maximum of 30 floors.

Gotham Knights, which follows the Bat-family as they’re forced to rise up as Gotham’s protectors following Batman’s death, will release on Friday, October 21st, 2022, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series consoles, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
