Ghostwire: Tokyo Gets March Release Date And New PlayStation Showcase

Ghostwire: Tokyo

Sony has revealed an official release date for upcoming action-adventure game Ghostwire: Tokyo.

Earlier today (February 2nd), Sony PlayStation uploaded a Ghostwire: Tokyo Showcase video set to premiere tomorrow (February 3rd). The video was published with no announcement from Sony, leading many to believe the tech giant set it live ahead of time.

Like previous showcases, the video will seemingly dive deep into Tango Gameworks’ upcoming title and offer new footage and gameplay details.

In addition, Sony revealed the game’s release date of March 25th in the video’s description, which reads: “Face the unknown in Ghostwire: Tokyo, launching March 25, 2022, on PlayStation 5 – pre-order today for bonus content”. A release date of March was leaked last month, but Sony’s new showcase video seemingly confirms the launch.

The game was first announced at Bethesda’s E3 presentation in 2019 with in-game footage shown at the 2020 PlayStation 5 Showcase and then September 2021 Showcase too.

The game is set in Tokyo where almost all of the city’s inhabitants have disappeared and which otherworldly spirits known as Visitors have invaded. Players follow Akito who, using his newfound supernatural powers, battles the spirits and unveils the mystery behind the strange disappearances.

The Ghostwire: Tokyo showcase will air tomorrow (February 3rd) at 10PM GMT / 2PM Pacific / 5PM Eastern / 11PM CET, and can be watched below. While you’re waiting, why not check out the Gran Turismo 7 State Of Play, airing today (February 1st).
