Dredge’s New Update Removes The Spook With Passive Mode

Dredge Update

If horror fishing sim Dredge was a little too spooky for you, a brand-new update for the game released this week has added a Passive mode to the game, along with an assortment of extra features.

The Passive mode, enabled at any time through the Settings menu, allows you to experience the game without the stress from some of Dredge’s more frightening Eldritch monsters, making for a more cosy experience.

The update also introduces a new character; The Photographer. She can be found at her camp on an island south of The Marrows, who tasks you with documenting your findings while adventuring out across the sea.

There are also ten new aberrations to catch, eight new wildlife encounters, and it introduces numerous bug fixes, game settings, and adjustments, which you can check over on Steam.

The update is the second for Dredge, with a third free update adding boat customisation coming later this year, along with a paid DLC.

Black Salt Games and Team17’s Dredge is available now on PC and PlayStation, Xbox, and Switch consoles, and it’s personally one of my favourite games of the year.

You can check my review for the game here, where I described Dredge as a “moreish video game that you’ll want to keep playing into the early hours of the morning”.
