What Is Scholar Of The First Sin?
Dark Souls 2 was released for PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360 consoles in March 2014. Scholar Of The First Sin is a special edition of Dark Souls 2 that was released for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One in April 2015. For those wondering, yes, Dark Souls 2: Scholar Of The First Sin comes all DLC from Dark Souls 2 ‘s The Lost Crowns DLC trilogy, including Crown Of The Sunken King, Crown Of The Old Iron King, and Crown Of The Ivory King.
Scholar Of The First Sin also includes improved visuals including advanced lighting, the ability to run the game at 1080p at 60 frames-per-second, and expanded online multiplayer capacity too. The re-release also included various gameplay, which we’ve detailed below.
Dark Souls 2 Vs Scholar Of The First Sin: What’s The Difference?
There are several differences between Dark Souls 2 and the Scholar Of The First Sin edition of the game. In addition to gameplay and performance upgrades, the 2015 edition of the game changed enemy positions and their behaviour to provide previous players with a new experience.
Alongside the above, Scholar Of The First Sin also:
- Added new NPC and boss fight Aldia, Scholar Of The First Sin
- Moved the Undead Crypt and Brightstone Cove Tseldora bonfires
- Added a new dark ending accessed by defeating Aldia
- Added new items
- Made changes to the descriptions of several items
All of the changes made to Scholar Of The First Sin have fundamentally changed the game into a completely different experience.
