Death Stranding Xbox Game Pass PC

Publisher 505 Games and developer Kojima Productions have announced that the original edition of Death Stranding is joining Xbox Game Pass for PC next week.

The original version of the game – not the Director’s Cut – will be made available on Xbox Game Pass for PC on Tuesday, August 23rd, from 1AM BST / 12AM UTC / 5PM PT / 9AM JST.

Death Stranding stars Norman Reedus as Sam “Porter” Bridges who is tasked with traversing a devastated North American to connect the country’s remaining survivors following humanity’s near-extinction. On the journey, you’ll need to connect with various people via the game’s Social Strand System, use hard-earned resources to improve your surroundings and the worlds of other players, and strategically place zip-lines, highways, and other structures to help you.

The game was originally released by Sony Interactive Entertainment in 2019 for PlayStation 4, followed by a PC release by 505 Games in 2020.

A Director’s Cut edition of the game launched for PlayStation 5 in 2021 and for PC in 2022. It includes more weapons, equipment, and vehicles, as well as new missions and modes, new areas to explore, expanded storylines, and additional online features such as leaderboards.

The launch of Death Stranding on Xbox Game Pass for PC comes as a sequel has unofficially been confirmed after Norman Reedus said to have started work on “the second one” in an interview with Leo Edit, followed by Hideo Kojima responding with a set of photos on Twitter depicting him punishing Reedus for the blunder.

The original version of Death Stranding will launch on Xbox Game Pass for PC on August 23rd. Check out a trailer for the game below:
