Cyberpunk Shooter The Ascent To Launch On PlayStation Next Month
Developer Neon Giant and publisher Curve Games have announced that their cyberpunk action-adventure RPG The Ascent is coming to PlayStation consoles next month.
The title is Neon Giant’s debut video game, and it’s set on Veles, a packed cyberpunk world. Players take on the role of a worker for The Ascent Group arcology, a corporate-run metropolis that has enslaved the player and everyone else in their district.
When the company mysterious shuts down and the survival of the player’s district is threatened, the player takes up arms and embarks on a mission to discover the truth about The Ascent Group’s closure.
The Ascent can be played either solo or with up to three friends in local or online co-op, and gameplay consists of using various weapons and gadgets to take on enemies, take cover, and use the game’s destructible environment’s for help.
The player character can be completely customised with cyberware designed for various playstyles, and the game includes numerous skill points that can be acquired by levelling up. There are allies and enemies to meet, loot to acquire, and unique districts that can be explored.
In addition to announcing the game for PlayStation consoles, Neon Giant and Curve Games have also announced the launch of the new Cyber Warrior DLC pack, which includes two new weapons, one new tactical, seven pieces of armour, and three weapon skins.
The development team have also added New Game+ mode to the game, allowing users who have completed the main game to start a more challenging experience. Enemies are tougher and have additional abilities with faster and harder-to-dodge projectiles. Levels have been increased to 30 and over, and weapons can be upgraded past Mk. 10 too.
The Cyber Warriors DLC pack is available for £3.99/€4.99/$4.99, and the New Game+ mode is available for free. The game is available for £24.99/€29.99/$29.99 for Xbox and PC via Steam, and will launch on PlayStation 4 and 5 consoles on March 24th.
