Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time Officially Announced – WATCH TRAILER

Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time

Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time has officially been announced.

A new Crash Bandicoot game has long-been rumoured but was officially announced today during Geoff Keighley’s Summer Game Fest event. The game, titled Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time, was announced in a reveal trailer showing off the new character models, masks, and gameplay footage.

The new game is a sequel to Naughty Dog’s original trilogy and takes place several decades after Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped in which Crash’s nemesis Neo Cortex, Dr N.Tropy, and Uka Uka are sent back in time to a distant planet. In Crash 4, the group manage to escape but open a rip in the fabric of space and time, forcing Crash and Coco to team up to defeat Cortex and save the multiverse.

Crash 4 will feature Crash and Coco as playable characters who retain the same gameplay mechanics from Naughty Dog’s trilogy in which characters spin, jump, and body slam through levels, as well as new mechanics such as rope swinging and wall running.

The game will also feature other playable characters, although today’s reveal only focused on Cortex who will use several gadgets to solve puzzles and get through levels.

The sequel also features four different Quantum Masks each with their own name, personality, and special ability which characters can utilise throughout the game. One mask can slow down time and another allows characters to run on the ceiling.

The game is being developed by Toys For Bob, the team that developed the Spyro Reignited Trilogy as well as the Nintendo Switch port of Crash N. Sane Trilogy, and will release October 2, 2020. You can watch the announcement trailer below:
