Developer Deck13 and publisher Focus Entertainment have announced the launch of a major free content update for Atlas Fallen.

The Reign Of Sand update will launch next month on August 6th and will include new gameplay features, enemies, and quests, as well as “an overhaul of your initial hours”.

New Game+ mode will be included with the update, allowing you to start a new game on the same difficulty or the new, harder Nyaal’s Nightmare difficulty mode.

The update’s New Game+ mode carries over your equipment, character progression, and materials, but adds new enemies and rearranges enemy spawns, items, and weapon upgrades.

An additional quest line has also been added, sending you to the Source, a distorted, divine plane, where you must use the newly introduced Wraith Abilities to transform into the creatures standing in your way and face the new mighty boss battles.

A new type of combat encounter will be added to the game with the update. Corruption Breaches are scattered across the open world and utilise varying gameplay modifiers for “unique, fun and rewarding experiences”.

Enemy variation has also been expanded. Morphers force you to engage in both mid-air and ground combat, while Weavers – available in New Game+ only – buff nearby Wraiths by applying affliction.

The Reign Of Sand update also adds 25 Essence Stones for more combat opportunities, and it allows you to transfer your save to carry over character progression but reset world progression.

The Reign Of Sand update for Atlas Fallen launches August 6th for PS5, Xbox Series consoles, and PC.
