The Witcher 3 New-Gen Update Will Launch Later This Year
The new-gen update for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will be released this year, CD Projekt Red has confirmed.
The developer and publisher announced a free PS5 and Xbox Series update for the action RPG back in September 2020. However, the update has seemingly run into trouble, being delayed to 2022 and then delayed indefinitely before today’s release window announcement.
CD Projekt Red revealed the news on Twitter as part of the game’s seventh anniversary. The studio confirmed that the new-gen update for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is planned to release in Q4 2022 between October and December.
No other details were shared.
For anyone unaware, the update will include ray tracing, faster loading times, and DLC inspired by Netflix’s adaptation of the franchise. It’ll be given to users with a copy of the game on PS4 and Xbox One and will be available as a standalone purchase too.
