Fall Guys Going Free-To-Play, To Launch On PS5, Xbox & Switch In June
Mediatonic has announced that its platform Battle Royale game Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout is going free-to-play and will be launching on new platforms.
The game, which launched in 2020 for PS4, will be launching next month on PC via the Epic Games Store and on the Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, the Xbox Series consoles, and on PlayStation 5, while also going free-to-play.
According to Mediatonic, the revamped game will support cross-play and cross-progression, allowing players from last-gen consoles to move all progress to new consoles or platforms without issue. It’ll also be using Epic Games’ servers for online play.
In addition to going free-to-play, Mediatonic will be launching a new season of the game titled Free For All, which will feature new events and locations, a new in-game currency known as Show-Bucks, a new Season Pass, new challenges and rewards, and plenty more.
Current owners of the game – anyone that bought or claimed it on PS4 or on Steam – will receive a Legacy Pack, which contains cosmetic items and the first Season Pass.
Meanwhile, Sony has confirmed that the PS5 version of the game, most likely true for the new-gen Xbox console too, will support 60 frames-per-second and 4K resolution. Haptic feedback support will be added “further down the line”.
Fall Guys will be going free-to-play and launching on other platforms on June 21st. Check out the announcement trailer below:
