The Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time Remake Switches Developer

Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time Remake Studio

The Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time Remake has once again hit a snag as publisher Ubisoft announced this week that development on the game has switched.

The long-awaited remake of the 2003 action-adventure game was announced at Ubisoft Forward 2020 with an expected launch date of January 2021. However, the game was delayed to March 2021, delayed indefinitely, and then delayed to 2022.

A new tweet published this week on the official Prince Of Persia Twitter account shared an update on the game, revealing that development has switched from Ubisoft Mumbai and Ubisoft Prune to Ubisoft Montréal, the studio behind the original game.

The statement reads: “The development of Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time Remake will now be led by Ubisoft Montréal, the very birth place of the epic Sands Of Time trilogy.

“This decision is an important step and the team, building upon the work achieved by Ubisoft Prune and Ubisoft Mumbai, will now take the time they need to regroup on the scope of the game to deliver you the best experience for this remake of an all-time classic, when it’s ready.”

Ubisoft ended the statement by thanking fans for their support and patience and promised to share an update on the remake soon.

When the remake does release, it will be available for PC and PlayStation and Xbox consoles. You can check out the trailer for the game below, but understand that it’s subject to change now:
