Remedy And Rockstar Games Announce Max Payne 1 And 2 Remakes

Max Payne

Remedy Entertainment and Rockstar Games have announced a partnership to remake Max Payne and Max Payne 2: The Fall Of Max Payne.

Under the new development agreement posted on the Remedy Games website, Remedy Entertainment – the creators of Control and last year’s Alan Wake Remastered – will develop the two games as a single title for PC, PlayStation, and Xbox Series consoles.

The game will use Remedy Entertainment’s Northlight game engine and its development budget, which is in line with a typical AAA-game, will be financed by Rockstar Games.

For those that played the original games, Max Payne is a neo-noir third-person shooter that was released in the early 2000s for PC, PlayStation 2, and Xbox.

The first game saw Payne hunt down the people responsible for the deaths of close family members, while the sequel sees Payne work with a contract killer to solve a conspiracy.

The project is currently in its concept development stage, so it’s still pretty far away. Alongside the May Payne remakes, Remedy is also working on Alan Wake 2, a sequel to Control, and an upcoming multiplayer game too.
