Microsoft Will Reportedly Hold Its Xbox Series X Game Showcase On July 23
New reports that have just come in claiming that Microsoft will be holding its Xbox Series X event on the week beginning July 20, which means it’s only a few weeks away.
The news comes from Videogameschronicle.com which explains journalist Jeff Grubb and various sources have confirmed that the event is planned for Thursday, July 23rd.
VGC reports that the showcase will primarily focus on upcoming Series X video games from Xbox Game Studios but third-party content will also make an appearance during the event.
Brand new gameplay of Halo Infinite will be shown during the show and Xbox’s new studio The Initiative, which was founded in 2018 by developers from Uncharted, Tomb Raider and God Of War, will announce their first game.
Other titles that may make an appearance at the event include the heavily-rumoured Fable 4 and a new Forza game. Hellblade 2 is also rumoured to make an appearance, although none of this hasn’t yet been confirmed.
Xbox’s Next-Gen Consoles
The news comes after we reported yesterday (July 1st) that Microsoft may be announcing its cheaper Xbox Series S console in August. The console, codenamed Project Lockhart, will reportedly be disc-less and feature lower specs than the officially announced Xbox Series X.
The console was planned to be announced at E3 2020 but the event’s cancellation forced Microsoft to push Lockhart’s unveiling to August.
Meanwhile, Phil Spencer has confirmed that its flagship Xbox Series X console, and ultimately Project Lockhart, are still set to release this holiday season with no delay over the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
It seems Microsoft’s next-gen game showcase is just a few weeks away now and with an alleged announcement of Project Lockhart coming soon, there’s plenty to look forward to! So stay tuned and check back for all the latest information.
