Silent Hill Creator Announces New Horror Action Game For 2023
Keiichiro Toyama, the creator of Silent Hill and Gravity Rush, has shared details of the debut game that his Bokeh Game Studio is working on.
Speaking to IGN Japan, Toyama says the studio, which was founded back in August, is currently developing a horror action-adventure game that will “appeal to fans of my previous work”. Toyama also said that the game will include “battles and story elements” similarly to his work at Sony PlayStation’s Japan Studio and Konami.
When asked how much the game will lean into the horror genre, Toyama told IGN Japan: “This will be more of a horror-oriented game. But we will focus on making this a broader entertainment experience, rather than a hardcore horror game.”
Also in the interview, the Silent Hill creator confirmed that the development is hoping to release the unnamed game on all platforms despite developing it with PC as the lead platform.
Toyama also confirmed that the team behind the game is “fairly large” and that the title is still in its early development stage but the studio is aiming to release the game in 2023. He said:
“We’re just entering prototype development, and development will probably take nearly three years. So we hope to get this game into your hands in about three years from now.”
Although the news that the game won’t be releasing for at least three years may be disappointing, it’s likely that we may get more news on the game soon, so watch this space!
