Finding the Volcano Cave

The Volcano Cave is found around the midsection of Mt. Gelmir. To get there, you’ll need to travel anti-clockwise along the topmost part of Atlus Plateau until you reach a roped bridge with a Site of Grace at its end.

Along the way, you should pass a wandering carriage pulled by trolls and guarded by soldiers and a Mad Pumpkin Head.

What’s in the carriage?

The Great Stars weapon. A Great Hammer that scales on Strength (C) and Dexterity (D) and requires 22 Strength and 12 Dexterity to wield.

Follow the land on your right and weave in between several Virgin Abductors, hugging the cliffside on your left. There will be a ladder flagged with torches along the cliffside. Climb it.

When you reach the top, take a right and ride through the broken-down campsite until you see a rock formation jutting out of the cliff towards another section of the mountain. Use the rock formation as a bridge.

When you reach the other section of the mountain, ride as fast as possible to the ladder immediately ahead, as you’ll quickly be jumped by a Grafted Scion. Climb the ladder, and then the next three ladders after that.

You’ll reach another broken-down campsite with some tough soldiers. The Volcano Cave can be found by riding through the camp on your right, but if you ride through on your left, you can cross a bridge to the Ninth Mt. Gelmir Campsite Site of Grace.

Taking the right will lead you through a small group of Demi-Humans before you reach the Volcano Cave. Rest, and then head through.

Completing the Volcano Cave

The Volcano Cave is a little smaller than most other caves in the game. Head through, picking up the 2x Cave Moss on your way, and you’ll reach an opening with five Demi-Humans.

You’ll have two ways to go; left or right. Taking the right direction leads you deeper into the cave towards the boss, but there’s an ambush of five Demi-Humans and a Demi-Human Chief.

They should be easy to kill but can overwhelm you if you’re not careful.

If you take the left direction, you’ll reach two ledges, one of which you can grab a Golden Rune [6] from. Once cleared, enter the golden fog door to start the boss fight.

Defeating Demi-Human Queen Margot

Demi-Human Queen Margot drops: 11,000 Runes and the Jar Cannon

You shouldn’t have a problem with Demi-Human Queen Margot. She wields a Demi-Human staff and casts rudimentary Glintstone sorceries, which you can avoid by dodging to the left or right.

Margot will also use the staff as a weapon, performing several slashes and slams – all can easily be blocked. She can also perform a series of leaps and chain multiple of these attacks to break your stance and deal damage.

Take your time. Use Shield Guard Counters when you can or try to inflict Fire, Poison, or Rott damage, as she’s weak to said elements. Note that she’s resistant to Holy, Magic, and Lightning elements.

When defeated, she’ll drop the Jar Cannon weapon.
