Elden Ring’s Shadow Of The Erdtree expansion gets June release date
FromSoftware has finally announced a June 21st release date for Elden Ring’s Shadow Of The Erdtree expansion.
The upcoming DLC, which was announced over a year ago, sends you to the Land Of Shadow, a brand-new world obscured by the Erdtree.
According to official descriptions of the expansion, you’ll be guided to the Land Of Shadow by Empyrean Miquella, to a world “purged in unsung battle” and ruled by Messmer.
With the ability to travel between the base game’s world and the Land Of Shadow, you’ll “discover the dark secrets of the world” and meet others who followed in Miquella’s footsteps, all while exploring new dungeons and facing new enemies and bosses.
Like other FromSoftware expansions, Shadow Of The Erdtree will include new weapons, equipment, weapon skills, and magic, as shown in the reveal trailer.
Alongside announcing the expansion’s launch date, FromSoftware also announced several versions of the expansion and game, all of which can be pre-ordered now:
- Elden Ring Shadow Of The Erdtree: The standard version of the expansion, available digitally for all platforms.
- Elden Ring Shadow Of The Erdtree Edition: A special bundle that includes the base game and the expansion. Available physically (DLC still digital only) for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles or completely digital for all platforms.
- Elden Ring Shadow Of The Erdtree Premium Bundle: A special bundle that includes the expansion as well as a digital art book and soundtrack. Available digitally for all platforms.
- Elden Ring Shadow Of The Erdtree Deluxe Edition: A bundle that includes the base game and expansion and digital art books and soundtracks for the base game and expansion. Available digitally for all platforms.
- Elden Ring Shadow Of The Erdtree Collector’s Edition: A limited collector’s edition that includes a voucher code for the expansion on your selected platform, as well as a 46cm statue of Messmer The Impaler, a 40-page physical art book, and a digital copy of the expansion’s soundtrack.
Alongside the above, Bandai Namco Entertainment has, in limited quantities, made pre-orders for a replica of Messmer The Impaler’s helmet available. The collectable item, releasing with the expansion in June, is a “one-of-a-kind display piece” that’s been crafted “with precise detail” and comes with a certificate of authenticity.
Elden Ring’s Shadow Of The Erdtree will release for PC and PlayStation and Xbox consoles on June 21st.
