Microsoft To Increase The Price Of Xbox Series X And Game Pass
Microsoft is increasing the price of the Xbox Series X console and Xbox Game Pass subscriptions, a new report from The Verge has revealed.
The tech giant will be increasing the price of its more powerful current-gen console in all countries from August except for the USA, Chile, Colombia, Brazil, and Japan.
According to The Verge, the price will increase from August 1st, 2023, to £479.99 in the UK, CAD $649.99 in Canada, AUD $799.99 in Australia, and €549.99 across most of Europe – there will be no change to the price of the Xbox Series S.
Meanwhile, the price of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate will increase from £10.99 to £12.99 in the UK, €12.99 to €14.99 across all of Europe, and $14.99 to $16.99 in the USA. Basic Xbox Game Pass subscriptions will rise from £7.99 to £8.99 in the UK, €9.99 to €10.99 across Europe, and $9.99 to $10.99 in the USA.
The new subscription prices will come into effect from August 13th or September 13th in Germany, although new subscribers will be charged with the new prices immediately, and current subscribers won’t be affected until their subscription ends.
Microsoft has confirmed that there will be no price increase for PC Game Pass subscriptions, and users based in Norway, Chile, Denmark, Saudi Arabia, and Switzerland will not be affected by the Game Pass price hikes.
