How Many Missions Are In Horizon Forbidden West Burning Shores DLC

There are a total of six main missions in the Horizon Forbidden West Burning Shores DLC, along with an extra three side missions. If you want to find out how to start the DLC and get to Los Angeles, or simply want to figure out how far along you are in the story, take a look at our guide on how many missions are in the Horizon Forbidden West Burning Shores DLC.

How To Start The Burning Shores DLC

You can only start the Burning Shores DLC once you’ve completed the Horizon Forbidden West main quest Singularity. Once you’ve done that, Sylens will contact Aloy to discuss a new threat in Los Angeles, requesting that she meet him at Tilda’s Mansion.

After speaking with Sylens over Aloy’s Focus, fast travel to Tilda’s Mansion and head to the balcony where Aloy spoke with the Zenith. From there, you’ll be able to immediately start the DLC with a cutscene, launching you into the heart of Los Angeles.

Horizon Forbidden West Burning Shores Mission List

Immediately after starting the DLC, you’ll begin the first main mission of the Burning Shores DLC, and you’ll need to complete that before you can freely explore the brand-new region.

Once the first mission has been completed, you can trigger the three side missions or continue the story of Burning Shores. Like with the main game, none of the missions in the Burning Shores can be skipped or re-played.

The six main missions in the Burning Shores DLC are:

  1. To The Burning Shores
  2. Heaven And Earth
  3. The Stars In Their Eyes
  4. For His Amusement (Unlocks new machine override)
  5. His Final Act
  6. Epilogue

Alongside the above, there are an additional three side missions available in the Burning Shores DLC, which can be triggered across the Los Angeles region.

We’ve compiled a list of the three Burning Shores side missions, along with details on their triggering locations.

  1. The Splinter Within at Fleet’s End Burial Grounds
  2. A Friend In The Dark at Relic Ruins: Murmuring Hollow
  3. In His Wake at Fleet’s End, only available after completing For His Amusement

It took us around six hours to complete the main missions of the Burning Shores DLC, but if you’re someone who likes to explore, complete side objectives, and unlock all trophies, the DLC can take up to 15 hours to complete.

That’s it! Now you know how many main and side missions are in the Horizon Forbidden West Burning Shores DLC, as well as how long the DLC takes to complete.
