How Many Chapters Are In Red Dead Redemption 2?
Red Dead Redemption 2 is one of the highest critically acclaimed games of all time. A prequel to Red Dead Redemption, the game is narrative-heavy and tells the story of the Van der Linde gang through the eyes of protagonist Arthur Morgan. The game’s story unravels across several chapters, and you can discover how many chapters are in Red Dead Redemption 2 right here with our guide.
Red Dead Redemption 2 Chapter List
Red Dead Redemption has a total of eight chapters that include six main story chapters and two epilogue chapters. Through the main story chapters, you’ll play as Arthur Morgan and follow the downfall of the Van der Linde gang. The two epilogue chapters, meanwhile, set up the first game.
None of the chapters are skippable, and each of them vary in length, with chapter six being the longest and the two epilogues the shortest. With each new chapter, the Van der Linde gang will move their base camp to new locations around the map.
Some regions and side missions will remain locked until you’ve progressed through enough of the game, and there are missable missions that can only be completed within certain timeframes, so it’s a good idea to try and complete all side content as they appear.
We’ve listed all of the Red Dead Redemption 2 chapters below, named after the different camps the gang uses:
Please note that there may be spoilers in some of the chapters’ titles.
- Chapter One: Colter
- Chapter Two: Horseshoe Overlook
- Chapter Three: Clemens Point
- Chapter Four: Shady Belle
- Chapter Five: Guarma
- Chapter Six: Beaver Hollow
- Epilogue Part One: Pronghorn Ranch
- Epilogue Part Two: Beecher’s Hope
Although there is a mission select, you are restricted to completing only the mission selected. There’s no way to replay chapters unless you restart the game. However, you are able to freely roam the map at any time during the main game and once you’ve completed the epilogue chapters.
