The Witcher 3 New-Gen Update To Launch Next Month

The Witcher 3 Next-Gen

CD Projekt Red has announced an official release date for the new-gen update for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

After announcing the new-gen update back in September 2020 and delaying it several times to this year, CD Projekt Red has revealed that the update will be available on December 14th, 2022.

While information on what the update includes is slim, CD Projekt Red has confirmed that it will include numerous visual, performance, and technical enhancements, including ray-tracing support, faster loading times, and a “variety of mods integrated into the experience”.

The update will also include additional content inspired by The Witcher Netflix television series.

CD Projekt Red’s new-gen update will be available for purchase digitally on PC and new-gen consoles with all DLC and will be available as a free update for everyone that owns any release of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt for PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One.

A physical edition will be released at a later date after the initial digital rollout, with a date to be announced in the coming months.

Alongside the new-gen update, CD Projekt Red has confirmed that the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch versions of the game will receive an update too with “numerous additions and improvements”, as well as the Netflix-themed content.

CD Projekt Red will host a dedicated REDstream event on Twitch next week in which it’ll present gameplay from the new-gen version of the game.
