Everything We Know About Thymesia: Story, Gameplay & More

Thymesia Everything We Know

Thymesia is an upcoming Souls-like game developed by OverBorder Studio. It’s been described as a gruelling action RPG with fast-paced combat and an intricate weapon system. Fans of the Souls-like genre have expressed plenty of excitement for the game, and so we thought we’d round up everything we know about Thymesia ahead of its release.

Story

Thymesia is set in the fallen Kingdom of Hermes. Before its collapse, Alchemy was used by the denizens of Hermes for enhancing and healing as they see fit. However, when the price of alchemy become too steep, the Kingdom of Hermes unsuccessfully attempted to halt its use, which sparked a chain of events across the realm that led to chaos and plague-infected monsters prowling the streets with all hope of a cure lost.

You’ll play as Corvus, whose memories scattered memories can unveil the truth behind the collapse of Hermes and save it. As you explore the Kingdom of Hermes and collect Corvus’ lost memories, more secrets are discovered, and it’s up to you to uncover them.

Gameplay

As you explore the Kingdom of Hermes, you’ll face formidable and hostile foes and bosses that have been corrupted by the plague, and will need to seize and utilise a range of plague weapons to defeat them. The game also allows you to transform into your raven battle form to throw feathers like daggers and interrupt enemy attacks, and perform swift executions.

Throughout the game, you’ll be able to upgrade and modify Corvus’ movements and plague weapons, allowing you to deal more damage against the dangerous enemies of Hermes. You’ll also be able to create your own unique build and playstyle via the game’s in-depth talent tree, allowing you to face the challenges of Thymesia in your own way.

Enemies in Thymesia have two health bars; green and white. The white represents the enemy’s total health, while the green bar is the amount of wounds on an enemy. You’ll need to deplete both health bars to defeat an enemy, and when both have been emptied, the enemies will become dazed, allowing you to execute them via special claw attacks. However, wounds are temporary and will heal after a short period, so you’ll need to be quick in executing enemies.

Like with most Souls-like games, Thymesia comes with a dodge ability, including sidesteps and the ability to dodge towards enemies to perform dangerous attacks. In addition to dodging, you can also deflect attacks, negating any damage towards Corvus but dealing damage to the enemy.

Is There A Thymesia Demo?

OverBorder Studio released a Thymesia demo that was available between May 2nd and May 9th. Unfortunately, there is no Thymesia demo right now, which means you’ll have to wait until release date to play the game.
